Top Gun(1986)

Caught this at its 40th anniversary for the first time. Hard to overstate how much I hated this. How was this made in the same era as Die Hard and be this unserious (and not in a self-ware way)?

Looking at the makeup of that locker room it should be called top twink not top gun. Also, I first heard the Danger Zone tune was in Parks and Rec where Ben sings “high way to the calzone zone”, so that’s what I was thinking of whenever it played which probably didn’t help.
