The Housemaid (2025)

★★½

This was engaging, but at the end of the day
overlong and had too many missed opportunities.

Amanda carried this film. She delivered both the terrifying freak and the overwhelmed housewife with aplomb. Sydney Sweeney on the other hand, gave the same drab performance as everything else she’s in. Millie had the potential of Orphan-level slay, but all we got was generic woman with zero personality and an equally uncompelling character arc. If she just brought a little more to this character, this film would have been so much more interesting.

So many characters are given screen time yet are nothing but props discarded just 2 seconds later. I almost feel
bad for Enzo’s actor — all that ominous buildup for what? At least they are all hot.
