Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025)

an entirely vibe-based movie. nothing makes sense. it’s even funnier when you consider when they showed the doomsday vault it’s probably just some aws data center in ohio. and when they showed the source code of the world-ending ai it was probably lines of css centering a div. when they say “upload to cyberspace”, do they mean like google drive? at the end of the movie the world apparently looks very happy - where is the widespread economic malaise we were promised? 

however, it’s got some palm-sweating suspense especially during the climax, one of the most epic aerial stunt pieces ever seen, and an earnest tribute to one of the most beloved action franchises ever. if you have the right expectations, you won’t have a bad time.
