Like A Rolling Stone (2024)

★★★★½

This movie hit very hard. It reminds be of Thelma and Louise, only this story is much more suffocating. If you let it, it will make you feel things.

You do not have to have experienced systemic misogyny to empathize with Li Hong. I used to think that it was a somewhat of a cowardly thing to run away from your suppressors instead of actively fighting them, but the truth is walking away is often the bravest thing you can do.

I want to say that I related to how heartbreaking and scary it is to walk away from an entire value system that you were raised in. But I don't feel like that today, and this really isn't a man's story, so I will not hijack it.

also just learned the main actress went the same undergrad as me. crazy.
