I Want Your Sex(2026)

I did not go to Dore last weekend, so the universe planned for me to get my dose of kink exposure through this film. I Want Your Sex is like Baby Girl meets Pillion. It’s packed with belly laugh moments and witty irreverent commentary about art. Great choice if you can’t get tickets to The Odyssey IMAX 70mm and don’t want to watch Spider-Man.

This is another triumph for Olivia Wilde. She looked like she was having so much fun in this. Cooper Hoffman (who was in The Long Walk) feels like he's gonna get perpetually typecast in the white boy sub roles now -- he is too good in this setting. Also I love seeing unexpected Charlie XCX guest appearances. The whole cast seemed be enjoying the making of this film.

My favorite scene was Elliot and Apple getting ready together for their wild night with Erika. Apple's character really had a lot of potential here both with her insecurity and her desire to be involved in escapades. This is where the story started to fall flat for me a bit because Apple really feels like so much more interesting as a person than Elliot? And yet she ends up being an odd accessory in his story with an unfinished thread

At the end of the day though, it doesn't cut quite as deep as the other two films I compared it to. It doesn’t have the messiness and meatiness of Baby Girl, nor does it take you on an intimate emotional roller coaster like Pillion. It's a lot of quick wit and it more than entertained me for 90 minutes, but I'm not sure it will stay with me.
