Armageddon (1998)

This movie is very earnest. It’s not trying to be anything it isn’t and it doesn’t shy away from pulling tricks that it knows are cheap and yet works for the masses of its time. Twink Ben Affleck, as cute as he was, feels like concrete evidence to me that twink death can be good for some because the Daddy Affleck of today is so much hotter. Of course, neither version compares to the pristine Bruce Willis of this era.
